The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions towards the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency reported it really is alarmed regarding the significant range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high range of clients/beneficiaries to SRD access SASSA services.

“This can be mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office devoted to service the area daily. The support place designed for intervention experiences a superior influx of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it difficult to the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more means to allow the servicing of all prospects and boost usage of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
